Pirate’s Bight Norman Island BVI

We went to Pirate’s Bight yesterday and spent the day on the beach relaxing.  The snorkeling was amazing!  We saw this creature and none of us knew what it was.  I looked it up at home last night and it is called a Bearded Fireworm.

Face-lift for VIBE1

We have been giving VIBE1 a face-lift this season!  Most of the cushions have been replaced and we have a new radio on its way.  The stereo has an IPOD/IPhone docking station making it easier for our guests to listen to their own music while on board.

We are excited about the changes and hope you will be too!

Fun in the Sun on Jost Van Dyke

We had another wonderful day on Jost Van Dyke yesterday with our friends!  The water was crystal clear and glowing a beautiful aqua color and the bushwhackers were flowing.  Seddy even performed some astounding magic tricks for us.  Truly a perfect Caribbean day!

Exploring the BVI Day!

We do not have a charter today so we are heading over to the North-side of Tortola to explore new areas we can take our guests.

There is a new resort on Scrub Island we want to check out.  They have 3 restaurants so we will eat at one of them and grab some menus to keep on the boat.  We also hope to snorkel at Monkey Point and Diamond Reef and take pictures to post on the website.

This is also the area where the whales were spotted last week so we will be on the look-out for them too!

Humpback Whales Back in the VI

The Humpback Whales are back in the Virgin Islands!  They migrate down here in January and stay through the end of March to give birth in our warm waters.

While on charter yesterday, Sam heard one was spotted on the North-side of Tortola and rode over to check it out.  There was a large pod of dolphin swimming with the whale but unfortunately they only saw the dolphins.   Maybe next time!

Holidays in the Caribbean

The Virgin Islands is a wonderful place to spend the holidays.  Even though it is warm everyone is filled with the spirit of the season AND we can go to the beach too!

Christmas in the Caribbean means guavaberry wine, johnny cakes and song lyrics such as “How will Santa get here?  There are no reinder in my country, he’ll have to borrow me neighbor’s donkey!”  Here is another Caribbean classic by King Obstinate called “Ma Ma Bake Your Johnny Cake” YouTube Preview Image

Enjoy the season!

Stephen’s at Smuggler’s Cove Tortola

If you love fresh fruit smoothies and deserted beaches be sure to ask Sam to take you to Smuggler’s Cove on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.
This is a sleepy little bay with a beautiful white beach and clear aqua water.   The best part of Smuggler’s Cove though is Stephen.  If the red flag is flying, he is open.
Since there is no electricity, he runs his blender off his jeep battery!  He always has a smile and a wide assortment of fresh fruit to choose from like mangoes, bananas and pineapple.   Be sure to ask for a Daiquiri if you want de rum in it:)

Note: Check the Tortola cruise ship schedule beforehand since Smuggler’s Cove is now a cruise ship passenger destination:  http://travelcal.traveltalkonline.com/bvi.cgi
